Reanna Roane, LCMHCA

***Currently scheduling new clients for mid-fall 2027, including some evening/weekend avaailability.

Reanna is an in-network provider with: BCBS (including Blue Home/UNC Health Alliance), AETNA (including State Health Plan), Ambetter, and CIGNA/Evernorth. Hi there! My name is Reanna Roane. I use they/them pronouns. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate with a certification in Ecotherapy. I am currently pursuing credentials as a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist so that I can specialize in creative, play-based therapy for developmental healing in adults. I also lead skill groups for children and adolescents to support social and emotional learning. At this time, I am taking on adult psychotherapy clients.

I often work with adults navigating trauma, identity exploration, chronic illness, grief, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, relationship concerns, and the impacts of systemic oppression. I affirm clients from Black, Indigenous, Latine, Arab, and Asian communities, as well as 2SLGBTQIA+ and kink/BDSM communities.

You might feel ready to work with me if you’re curious about creativity as a healing practice, interested in understanding your relational patterns; longing to reconnect with your body or your younger selves; or looking for a therapy space where curiosity matters more than having all the answers.

How I Practice:

I believe that healing happens in relationship; this can be in our relationships with other humans, pets, the natural world, a spiritual realm, or even within ourselves. I view the therapeutic relationship as a laboratory where clients explore and practice other ways of being that feel more aligned with who they are and how they want to move through the world. Together, we notice patterns, explore the stories held in your body, and develop sustainable systems for you to care for yourself in a world full of uncertainty and challenges.
My work is relational, person-centered, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and grounded in liberatory practices (such as disability justice and ecowomanism). I integrate expressive arts, somatic awareness, and developmental theories to help clients reconnect with younger parts of themselves. Throughout treatment, we explore and integrate the wisdom, needs, creativity, and resilience those developmental parts still carry. I regularly use play and creative therapies to facilitate this.

More about Me: I’m a light-skinned biracial (Black & White), nonbinary queer therapist navigating chronic illness. Outside the therapy room, I’m a performance artist, cartoon lover, meandering hiker, loyal friend, and dog dad. (For the astrology lovers: Scorpio Sun, Cancer Rising, Gemini Moon.)

“Before a child speaks, it sings. Before they write, they paint. As soon as they stand, they dance. Art is the basis of human expression.” — Phylicia Rashad
